The purpose of CAAP is to provide vocational, therapeutic services and support to economically disadvantaged persons 18 and older unemployed, under-educated members of the community who have been victims of domestic violence.
If you can answer yes to any of these questions, you may be a victim of domestic violence.	The program provides crisis intervention and therapeutic treatment through the counseling process and advocacy for adult victims of domestic violence from the initial crisis line. CAAP's objective is to empower victims of domestic violence within the Memphis/Shelby County area.
Does the person you love. . .	Our Domestic Violence Program provides the following services. . .
	Crisis Line CAAP provides a 24-hour crisis line, 7 days a week, to offer crisis counseling, services, information and referrals. Court Advocacy CAAP provides a personal and legal advocate to walk victims through the legal process and accompany them to court. Transportation Transportation is provided for needed services to the victims of domestic abuse.	Counseling Therapy CAAP provides individual and group counseling for victims of domestic violence to assist them n dealing with the impact of abuse and developing a safety plan. Referrals CAAP provides avenues for educational, vocational rehabilitation, shelter and employment services. C.O.A.P. (Children of Abused Parents) Because we recognize children as secondary victims of domestic violence, CAAP provides specific therapeutic programs for Children of Abused Parents.
Keep track of all your time? Accuse you of being unfaithful? Discourage relationships with family and friends? Prevent you from working or going to school? Criticize or humiliate you? Anger easily when drinking? Hit, slap or punch you or your children? Threaten you with a weapon or gun? Force you to have sex against your will?
If you are a victim of domestic abuse, you have the following rights: You may file a criminal complaint with the district Attorney General (D.A.) You may request a protective order which may include: An order preventing the abuser from committing further abuse. An order requiring the abuser to leave your household. An order preventing the abuser from harassing you or contacting you. An order giving you or the other parent custody of or visitation with your minor child or children. An order requiring the abuser to pay money to support you and the minor children if the abuser has legal obligation to do so; and An order preventing the abuser from stalking you.
